Title

Resolution approving a Land Disposition Report and authorizing the sale of a portion of the City owned property located at 8919 North Granville Station Road, in the 9th Aldermanic District.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the sale of a portion of the City owned property at the former Northridge mall to Menard, Inc., the owner of an adjoining parcel.

 

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee (“City”) owns the real property located at 8919 North Granville Station Road which is more commonly known as the former Boston Store parcel at Northridge mall (“Property”); and

 

Whereas, Menard, Inc. (“Menards”) owns an adjoining parcel located at 8110 West Brown Deer Road on which Menard’s operates a retail location; and

 

Whereas, Menards expressed an interest in acquiring a portion of the Property from the City; and

 

Whereas, Staff from the City’s Department of City Development (“DCD”) and the City Attorney's Office met with representatives of Menards and negotiated the terms of the sale of the Property that are summarized in the Land Disposition Report attached to this Common Council File; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Land Disposition Report is approved and that DCD is authorized to enter into a Purchase and Sale Agreement with Menards materially consistent with the Land Disposition Report and then convey the Property to Menards in accordance therewith; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of DCD, or designee, is authorized to execute the Purchase and Sale Agreement, deed, and any other documents needed to complete the sale in accordance with the Land Disposition Report, Purchase and Sale Agreement, and this resolution; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the sale proceeds, less sale and marketing expense and a 30 percent disposition fee to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, shall be credited to the Delinquent Tax Fund.
