Title
A substitute ordinance relating to notification requirements for city plan commission public hearings on zoning map amendments.

Analysis
The city plan commission’s by-laws stipulate that written notice of a plan commission public hearing on a zoning map amendment shall by provided by mail or personal service to:
a. Petitioners.
b. Owners of property under consideration for rezoning.
c. Owners of property immediately surrounding and within at least 200 fee thereof, inclusive of streets and alleys.
d. Residential and business addresses within 200 feet thereof, inclusive of streets and alleys.
This ordinance provides that, in addition to the notice required by city plan commission by-laws, notice of the public hearing shall be provided to all owners of property immediately surrounding and within at least 250 feet of the property under consideration, including streets and alleys, as well as to all mailing addresses in the same area.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 295-307-3-d of the code is repealed and recreated to read:
295-307. Amendments To The Zoning Text Or Map.
3. PROCEDURE FOR MAP AMENDMENT.
d. City Plan Commission. d-1. The commission shall hold at least one public hearing on any proposed map amendment.
d-2. In addition to the notice required by city plan commission by-laws, notice of the public hearing shall be provided to all owners of property immediately surrounding and within at least 250 feet of the property under consideration, including streets and alleys, as well as to all mailing addresses in the same area.
d-3. Upon completion of its public hearing, the commission shall prepare a report of its findings and recommendations on the proposed map amendment and file a copy of the report with the common council.
