Body:
Whereas, The Common Council, through the approval of the 2008 Water Works Capital Improvement Budget, provided funding for Backup Power Generation at the Linnwood Purification Plant  which includes the  services of design, preparation of plans and specifications and construction management during the construction for and installation of generators as well as procurement and installation of generators for the Linnwood Purification Plant; and

Whereas, It is impractical to develop precise bidding specification for these services; and

Whereas, Resolution File No. 041281 authorized the Commissioner of Public Works to issue a Request for Proposals and award a contract for professional services for the electric power reliability study for the Milwaukee Water Works; and

Whereas, After a competitive selection process, Black & Veatch Corporation was selected to perform the electric power reliability study for the Milwaukee Water Works ; and

Whereas, Black & Veatch Corporation successfully completed the contract work that resulted in the conceptual approach accepted by the Milwaukee Water Works; and

Whereas, Resolution File No. 071421 authorized awarding a contract to the firm of Black & Veatch Corporation for professional services associated with providing backup power for the Riverside Pumping Station; and

Whereas, Black & Veatch Corporation has substantially completed the professional services associated with the Riverside Pumping Station Backup Power Generation Project; and
