Whereas, The purpose of the MKE Community Excellence Fund Special Purpose Account is to provide resources to support community events that promote peace and violence prevention; and
Whereas, The events and initiatives being designated as city events and receiving allocations of funding under this resolution all provide opportunities for the City to support the promotion of peace and the prevention of violence, in alignment with the intended purpose of the MKE Community Excellence Fund; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Mi Milwaukee and Leader’s Igniting Transformation - Bridging Voices are declared to be official City events; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council-City Clerk’s Office is authorized to accept and expend contributions for these purposes; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish special accounts within the Common Council - City Clerk’s Budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Clerk is directed to expend up to $11,000 from the MKE Community Excellence Fund Special Purpose Account (0001 1310 S246 006300) in the following amounts for payment or reimbursement of expenses related to the following events:
Mi Milwaukee Up to $3,666
Hispanic Heritage Month Up to $3,666
Leader’s Igniting Transformation - Bridging Voices Up to $3,666
; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the amount paid or reimbursed from the MKE Community Excellence Fund for each event shall be matched by contributions from local organizations that event.
