This resolution expresses the City of Milwaukee's support for the continued presence of the U.S. Air Force Reserve 440th Airlift Wing and the Wisconsin National Guard 128th Air Refueling Wing in the Milwaukee community.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee recognizes the significant economic and cultural assets to the community that the U.S. Air Force Reserve 440th Airlift Wing and the Wisconsin National Guard 128th Air Refueling Wing provide; and
Whereas, The preservation and future growth of the 440th Airlift Wing and 128th Air Refueling Wing as active military facilities will directly impact the future of the community; and
Whereas, The residents of the City of Milwaukee view the presence of the military in their community as a source of great pride for the role it has played in America's history and the continuing role it is fulfilling; and
Whereas, The Common Council recognizes that it is of the highest importance to ensure that City residents maintain a positive and sustaining relationship with the Air Wings; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee is committed to act as a positive liaison between the Air Wings and City residents to ensure that the residents are fully aware of the value to the community of the presence of both the 440th Airlift Wing and 128th Air Refueling Wing; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee supports the activities of the Air Wings which are necessary to its mission and the defense of this country; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee supports the continuing presence of the 440th Airlift Wing and the 128th Air Refueling Wing as an integral part of the Milwaukee community.
