Analysis

This resolution expresses the City of Milwaukee's support for the continued presence of the U.S. Air Force Reserve 440^th Airlift Wing and the Wisconsin National Guard 128^th Air Refueling Wing in the Milwaukee community.                     

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee recognizes the significant economic and cultural assets to the community that the U.S. Air Force Reserve 440^th Airlift Wing and the Wisconsin National Guard 128^th Air Refueling Wing provide; and

Whereas, The preservation and future growth of the 440^th Airlift Wing and 128^th Air Refueling Wing as active military facilities will directly impact the future of the community; and

Whereas, The residents of the City of Milwaukee view the presence of the military in their community as a source of great pride for the role it has played in America's history and the continuing role it is fulfilling; and

Whereas, The Common Council recognizes that it is of the highest importance to ensure that City residents maintain a positive and sustaining relationship with the Air Wings; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee is committed to act as a positive liaison between the Air Wings and City residents to ensure that the residents are fully aware of the value to the community of the presence of both the 440^th Airlift Wing and 128^th Air Refueling Wing; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee supports the activities of the Air Wings which are necessary to its mission and the defense of this country; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee supports the continuing presence of the 440^th Airlift Wing and the 128^th Air Refueling Wing as an integral part of the Milwaukee community.
