Substitute resolution relative to the acceptance and funding of the Tides Foundation grant from the Center for Youth Engagement Inc.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Tides Foundation Grant from the Center for Youth Engagement, Inc. in the amount of $180,000 with a grantor share of $180,000 (100%). The purpose of the grant is to support activities related to the Milwaukee Health Department Office of Violence Prevention.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Center for Youth Engagement, Inc. to support activities related to the Milwaukee Health Department Office of Violence Prevention; and
Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 10/01/16 to 06/30/2017 would cost $180,000 comprised of $180,000 (100%) grantor share; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance of this grant from the Center for Youth Engagement, Inc. is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2016 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Tides Foundation Grant:

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and, be it
3. Establish the necessary City Share Project Values; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date; and
2. Expend from the 2016 grant budget for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff;
3. Expend from the 2016 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment; and
4. Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget.
