Analysis

This ordinance makes the following changes to the rules governing areas in which cruising is temporarily prohibited:

1.  It clarifies that the chief of police shall file a copy of the plan detailing the temporary no cruising area with the common council no later than 14 days following the date on which the designated area takes effect.

2.  It deletes a requirement that the chief of police's plan for a particular no cruising area include the time during which the area will be in effect.  The plan need only include the date or dates on which the area will be in effect.
