Whereas, The purpose of the MKE Community Excellence Fund Special Purpose
Account is to provide resources to support community events that promote peace and violence prevention; and
Whereas, Common Council File Number 251571 authorized the expenditure of up to $6,500 from the MKE Community Excellence Fund for Hispanic Heritage Month; and
Whereas, Common Council File Number 252107 authorized the expenditure of up to $3,666 from the MKE Community Excellence Fund for Hispanic Heritage Month; and
Whereas, Common Council File Number 252107 authorized the expenditure of up to $3,666 from the MKE Community Excellence Fund for Mi Milwaukee; and
Whereas, Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the rich history, culture and contributions of Milwaukee’s Hispanic and Latino communities and provides opportunities to foster community pride, connection and cultural awareness; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Clerk’s authority to expend up to $3,666 for the Mi Milwaukee event under Common Council File Number 252107 is rescinded; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Clerk is directed to expend up to $3,666 from the MKE Community Excellence Fund Special Purpose Account (0001 1310 S246 006300) for payment or reimbursement of expenses related to Hispanic Heritage Month, increasing the total amount allocated to Hispanic Heritage Month in 2026 to up to $13,832 under Common Council File Numbers 251571, 252107, and this resolution.
