Minutes note: • SLOPE Tool: Modeled data w/ NREL, fairly accurate, current-2050 (presentation by Matt Donath) o Different categories and datasets (Visual) • Data can be exported o Energy efficiency, renewables, EV's o Shows generation potential for Milwaukee County o Utility PV - calculated with open land o Commercial PV - rooftop space for business o Wind Potential - Land based wind potential o Geothermal potential (heat pumps) • 2028 is expected technology cost reduction for geothermal o Offshore wind: not currently looking at o Distributed wind poses unique problems with access and city wind trends o WI has higher electricity cost than national average • Potential of lake/river cooling for buildings near the water not addressed in SLOPE tool • City Goals: o Energy efficiency (25% cut by 2030) o 25% renewable power goal for city operations by 2025 o 45% carbon reduction by 2030, and 0 by 2050
