   3. New Work Fund

Minutes note: 1. Members discussed requesting a new budget from the New State for their (reduced) mural project. 2. Members discussed what the 2021 New Work Fund RFP should look like. • Possibility of using it for an artist residency: embedding an artist in a City agency both to make work and to involve an artist in civic thinking and decision-making (bringing an artist's perspective to the table. • Need to consider if this would be local/national, or possibly a two-tiered program. • Promote this as a professional development program for local artists (positioning them to apply for other public art residencies elsewhere). • Consider if any of the artists selected for the Art & Civic Engagement RFP would be suitable. • Planned to write an introductory letter and circulate it to department heads in order to identify an agency (or agencies) that would be interested in participating. • If an agency is identified, determine rules of engagement. • Determine role of MAB (given that we don't have staff to manage projects).

   5. New Business

Minutes note: Members agreed to reach out to HPC to see if we could work with them to produce a more comprehensive set of mural guidelines that could also address "standards of excellence" or "best practices" related to community involvement in selection, community engagement, and contextualization. Members suggest that other mural-involved agencies participate, with an eye to aggregating information on City funding sources for murals. Ms. Koster agreed to forward mural guidelines from the East Side and Historic Third Ward Architectural Review Boards; board already has the Downtown BID public art guidelines.
