Minutes note: The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Youth, is a non-profit youth organization that helps gives the youth a voice and to mold them into the future leaders of the next generation. It has pre-conventions, state/national conventions, and leadership seminars open to all. Carmen School students invited the youth council to spread the word about LULAC to have more youth be involved.

     5. Review and Possible Approval of CDBG Reprogramming Recommendation.

Minutes note: Two organizations submitted RFP for youth council to review. Social Development Commission (SDC) Appearance by: Ms. Sheila Sampton Ms. Willie Mae Hill SDC asked $15,000 SDC's Counseling and Wellness Clinic has existing relationships with the administrative and teaching at a number of high shools and middle schools that are located within the CDBG area. The program staff will continue to build relationships with schools and offer a menu of age-appropriate workshops for middle or high school age youth. Students who are enrolled in the school will attend the workshops as part of their school curriculum. Staff will also invite teachers and administrative staff to participate in a Lunch and Learn forum which will be communication though SDC marketing staff through messages posted on SDC social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the SDC website. Wisconsin Community Services Apperance by: Ms. Nichole Yunk Todd WCS asked $25,000 The outreach for this project will be Milwaukee Public Schools through directors of the CLCs and the Milwaukee County Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFs), which is the agency that is tasked with the supervision and support of children who are involved in the justice system. WCS will also generate an advertisement for the project on social media and send via email to other youth-serving programs and agencies in Milwaukee. In addition, WCS will provide information about this program to the young people in its care across multiple programs to continue to engage them after they complete other programming requirements.
