   5. Obama Foundation MBK Community Challenge Grant Proposal Update (Shannon Reed, United Way)

Minutes note: The United Way of greater Milwaukee is the agency fulfilling the mentoring piece of the BMAAC. They are waiting on s submitted MBK Community Challenge Grant proposal for funding. United Way has joined forces with other agencies such as MPS, Employ Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Bucks to develop and implement a comprehensive mentoring model.

   6. Campaign for Black Male Achievement Presentation (Sheba Rogers/Steve Vassor).

Minutes note: (excerpts from report) Campaign for Black Male Achievement (CBMA) - The Promise of Place from the executive summary The CBMA core mission is to build beloved communities across America, where Black men and boys are healthy, thriving, and enabled to achieve their fullest potential. The report highlights the progress made by the 50 cities in the Black Male Achievement (BMA) City Index featured in the first edition of the report released in 2015. Promising cities adhere to three BMA core values: collective work and responsibility; respect and recognition; and bodl goals and outcomes. Ther three core vlaues underpin eight building blocks of progress: city administration commitemnt to Black men and boys (BMB), reimagining BMB, BMB stakeholder community, actionable agenda for BMB, targeted funding, effective practice base, coordinated capacity-building infrastructure and coordination and continuum of BMA acitivitites. The report profiles five cities - Baltimore, Detroit, Louisville, Milwaukee and Oakland - that have encompassed these critical BMA field building blocks needed to become a promising city for Black Male Achievement. for full report click - https://www.blackmaleachievement.org/community/city-index Mr. Vassor said that, currently, there are 280 cities that are applying for $750,000 dollars for Black Male Achievement. At the Campaing for Black Male Achievement mission to the role is to breath life into building bridges for those who how are they leading the charge around black men and boys. either people have position or not, thye belong to a board room or on the block, building a passage of those people who care about black men and boys. do that in five direfernt activities: graduation from HS, healthy and healed, fellowships, block symetric forces. how and where do we align. Promise of a Place Ms. Rogers roles translate national model.

   7. Office of Violence Prevention Update (Reggie Moore/David Muhammad).

Minutes note: The office has been extremelly involved among the community with activities such as the kick-off for We Got This, Conflict Resolution Circles, Juneteeth Festival, to name a few. Also in collaboration with other agencies such as Boys and Girls Club and Running Rebels, offering presentation among the topics of youth and family violence prevention, said Mr. Muhammad.

Minutes note: Dr. Howard Fuller, with the support of Alderman Russell W. Stamper II will host a community meeting on the future of North Division High School - Thursday, June 28. The meeting will feature discussion on the Road Forward for North Division High School – Discussion: Community “Control” School. During the month of August, the City will be celebrating Hip-Hop week.
