   1. Roll Call and Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes

Minutes note: Meeting convened at 4:04 PM Ms. Morris moved, seconded by Mr. Murphy, approval of the previous meeting minutes.

   2. Public Art Subcommittee Report

Minutes note: Ms. Morris stated that the Public Art Subcommittee is recommending that $10,000 be funded to the Westown Association for their Conservation Fund request related to the Court of Honor project. It is an important site and several other organizations will contribute to funding the project. Ms. Layden moved, seconded by Ms. Cubias, approval of the recommendation. There were no objections. Ms. Morris stated two New Work Fund applications had been submitted. The subcommittee determined that the Alive MKE project did not fall into the scope of the New Work Fund. Ms. Witte will speak with them about other potential funding. The second proposal is from Temporary Resurfacing 2015 and they will be asked to present information in March. The New Work Funding will be kept open.

   3. Confirm process for Friends of the Arts nominations and selection

Minutes note: Ms. Witte presented information on the Friends of the Arts Award. Award winners will be honored at the meeting in June. Nominations can be submitted until April 1st. There could be presentations and a vote during the April meeting.

   4. Presentation and update on Kresge Foundation grant by Sara Daleiden

Minutes note: Ms. Daleidan gave a presentation from the Greater Milwaukee Committee on the Kresge Foundation grant and creative placemaking. The organization will be issuing a white paper entitled "The Milwaukee Method of Creative Placemaking." The Milwaukee Method uses a national framework for creative placemaking and addtionally includes several local core values. The GMC will be focusing on three areas this year including West Wisconsin Avenue, The Artery/Beerline Trail, and Walker's Point. They work with local neighborhood groups in each area. The Kresge grant started in January and goes through December 16th. Additional funding has also been obtained. Ald. Murphy asked what the budget towards artists is. Ms. Daleidan stated 25% goes to the artist. Ald. Murphy suggested there might also be opportunities for public art projects and funding on playgrounds. Ms. Daleidan stated any feedback from the Arts Board is appreciated. Meeting adjourned at 4:39 PM Staff Assistant Jessica Celella
