Minutes note: Ms. Morris said that subcommittee reviewed a proposal from United Community Center to restore a mural in the Bruce Guadalupe School building that, Reynaldo Hernandez had done back in 1989. The recommendation is to fund the project in the amount of $3,000.00; There were no objections.
subcommittee also went over the Conservation Fund application and updates were made.
Ms. Svetic shared the link with members to review the application and also went over the sections that were updated. Member Flores, seconded by member Morris moved to approve the application as updated.

1. Recommendations from the Review Panel for the 2025 Sustaining Grant Award
Minutes note: This year the Milwaukee Arts Board received 63 complete applications, 62 of which were deemed complete and eligible for consideration. There were 4 first-time applicants in this year’s applicant pool. A total of 47 organizations are recommended for funding – one at $3,000 and 45 at $6,000 and one at $3,600 (based on the projected income for the current fiscal year and available funding) – for a total of $276,600.

Minutes note: A film festival called Reeled in Resilience, are accepting submissions that are from Hmong and Southeast Asian filmmakers to share their stories on screen.
The annual art celebration will be held on June 10th at 5:30pm in the City Hall Rotunda.
The Moving Art Car will be out at the Big Truck Day this Saturday at Red Arrow Park from 11am - 2pm
Wednesday, May 14th, from 9 AM to 2 PM at City Hall, several council members are sponsoring the second Advocacy Day centering around housing and public safety .At 9 a.m., keynote addressed by former Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes. | | | |
