The question was asked if the Office of the City Attorney has provided an opinion as to the legality and enforceability for these files.
City Attorney, Goyke said that although his office has not receive an official request for an opinion, he is willing to give a response to the council prior to the next common council.
City Treasurer supports these legislations. It wasn't until 2017 that the computer system changed when treasurer's showed the discrepancy.
Sponsor asked for flexibility to make any necessary changes to make language clear between now and the next council or to be presented at council.
Proposed added language "this would not take effect until the 2024 Levy"
City Attorney Goyke came back to the table to confirm that this legislation is legal and enforceable.
