Minutes note: -Municipal Court Appearing: Angelique Pettigrew, Budget Office Sheldyn Himle, Chief Court Administrator Charles Hughes, Deputy Court Administrator Pres. Jose Perez, Common Council/12th Ald. Dist. Ald. Russell Stamper, II, 15th Ald. Dist. Ald. Khalif Rainey, 7th Ald. Dist. Ms. Pettigrew, Chief Court Administrator Himle, and Deputy Court Administrator Hughes gave a Municipal Court presentation on the following: 2024 Budget Summary, Positions & Salaries, Operating & Equipment Expenditures, Special Funds, Special Purpose Accounts, Revenues, Capital Improvement Budget, Key Performance Measures, 2024 Major Updates from Department, Org Chart, Department Demographics, Service Delivery, Racial & Equity Inclusion Pres. Perez requested for lead code violation case data that has gone through Municipal Court and obtaining a list of the top most egregious offenders. Ald. Dimitrijevic requested a memo from Municipal Court on entertaining the incarceration of repeat offenders for nonpayment of fines, particularly citations related to reckless driving and speeding. Ald. Murphy requested LRB to draft a letter on the alders' behalf for the Municipal Court Chief Judge and the City Attorney to respond to on the legality and most permissible way to address repeat driving offenders and to hold them accountable for their offenses. Ald. Stamper requested demographic data on traffic citations based on location and zip code. Ald. Rainey requested assistance from LRB to ask the Police Department to respond on the tracking of locations (as a datapoint) where traffic citations would occur.
