100150 02.CommunicationCommunication relating to an update on development of the property located at 1141 North Old World Third Street by the Department of City Development (“The Moderne”).

Minutes note: Individuals appearing: Laurie Lutzka, Department of City Development Jim Scherer, Department of City Development Rick Barrett, Barrett Visionary Development Ms. Lutzka says that the Department of Housing and Urban Development is currently reviewing the project and its approval is taking more time than anticipated. She says that HUD is definitely moving forward, but there is a lot of documentation for HUD to review. Ms. Lutzka also says that is requiring more equity from the developer and that more money be put in a reserve account. Ald. Murphy says that the mayor could use his congressional connections to urge HUD speed up their review of the loan. Mr. Barrett says that the loan interest rate for the loan is good through the end of July.
