   2. Review and discussion on the research done by the Office of the City Attorney and the Department of Public Works on how to accomplish the changing of past street renamings to honorary street names.

Minutes note: Individuals present: Ms. Marcia Lindholm, Cental Drafting & Records Manager, Dept. of Public Works Assistant City Attorney Edward Ehrlich Mr. Gurda said that the opinion provided by the City Attorney's Office and the Dept. of Public Works, dated September 27, 2007 (Exhibit 1), regarding his request at the September 13, 2007 committee meeting to do research on how to accomplish the changing of past official street renaming to honorary names, states that "As a result of the language set forth in Chapter 113 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances (no name changes or honorary naming proposals shall be considered for a period of 10 years following the effective date of the naming), no such renaming can be considered by the Citizens' Advisory Committee for the bulk of the street names set forth on the list of official street name changes attached to the opinion for many years."
