Commissioner Jerrel Kruschke summarized events 4-13 to 4-17. (Extreme high winds, heavy forestry impacts, high-rain event) see video for more details. Planned operational change 1: permanent signage and guaranteed street sweeping days in exception parking areas to access curb lanes and reduce debris accumulation. Planned operational change 2: move leaf collection toward a full bagging operation (reduce leaves pushed into parking lanes and prevent curb-lane pile-ups that clog basins). Kevin Shafer (Executive Director, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District) gave a presentation (see video for more details) MMSD serves 29 municipalites and assets approximate 300 miles of regional pipe, two water reclamation facilities,and the deep tunnel. Ald Coggs thanked city staff for around-the-clock work during widespread impacts, while acknowledging public criticism. She encourage DPW to read the e-comments form the public and respond.
