Mr. Balcerzak asked that all commissioners be required to attend the police citizens academy. According to Alderman Murphy commissioners would participate in the ride-a-long program at the decrection of the Police or Fire Chief. There would be an annual review before the Public Safety Committee. Alderman Witkowski commented that he believed the training should be taylored specifically to the needs of commissioners with oversight by the Executive Director of the Fire and Police Commission.

Alderman Witkowski suggested that crime analysis be provided to residents through block watch captains. He stated that he believed including positive information in the reports so that residents receive a complete overview of what's going on in the community. He continued that positive information also impacts the community.
