(Expired 7/25/2025) The applicant was present along with Atty. Connor Dartt. Sgt. Velasquez said that there was a mistake on MPD’s end and the police report was not noticed. Atty. Gresham recommended to hold the application to the call of the chair to notice it properly. Ald. (Expires 9/12/2025) The applicant was present and regarding the items on the police report said that item 6 did not happened at the gas station, that item 5 was about a person who was upset and came inside the store throwing everything within his reach and that the rest are restrictions orders that were violated. Individuals also present: Ald. Pratt said that this application was scheduled due a shooting that was not reported sometime in July. The applicant said that the employees heard something while doing the cleanup around the perimeter and that they heard something around but nothing that they could see in front of them. Ald. Pratt said that the store is well kept and attended and that she does not have an objection. Ald. Pratt moved approval. There were no objections. (Prevailed 5-0)

(Expired 7/6/2025) The applicant was present and said that the first item on the police report was a mad customer who called and that his son does not even work in there. Individuals also present: Ald. Burgelis said that there is an item at 4:23 am and asked if his surveillance cameras are working. The applicant said that sometimes people come in the store asking for orders that were not picked up and that this must be the case of an angry person calling. He explained that they give away the orders that are not picked up. He added that he has 4 cameras inside and 4 cameras outside and that they are working. Mr. Cooney said that the cameras are not included in the plan of operations. Ald. Pratt asked the applicant if he is willing to amend the plan of operations to include the surveillance cameras. The applicant agreed Ald. Burgelis moved to amend the plan of operations to include the 8 cameras in the plan of operations. There were no objections. Ald. Pratt said that she has received calls that this business is open at late hours. The applicant said that he closes at 12am and that he stops taking orders by 11:30pm. He added that there have been times that door dashers pick up the orders a little later. He assured the committee members that no orders will be picked up after 12am. Individuals in support: Will Perry -5335 N Teutonia Av – said that the applicant support the organization’s food pantry efforts and that he is a vital community member. Kendall Shanky – 2522 W Capitol Dr - said that she works next door and that she is in support of this business because it is a good neighbor to them and people like its food. Judy Dixon – 2522 W Capitol Dr – said that she has lived there for 12 years with no complaints and that the applicant is a true community member. Thomas Haslet – said that he does not live around but works at Rufus King High School and that the applicant has supported the school’s and clubs fundraisers for the last 10 years. Ald. Pratt moved approval with a warning letter. There were no objections. (Prevailed 5-0)

Zamarripa said that this is part of the efforts to create more food truck parks in the city and that she talked to the applicant offline to reduce the hours of operations. Minutes note: 03 HUDSON, Michael I, Agent for "Sunny Days Foods LLC", Class A Malt & Class A Liquor License Application for "SUNNY DAYS FOOD" at 2500 N DOUSMAN St. The applicant was present and regarding the item of the police report, he said that his employees have taken and passed the classes and took care of the citations. Individuals in objection: Kathy Olive – 2511 N Gordon Ct - said that this is a residential neighborhood and that there are 4 alcohol outlets within two blocks including this one and that they have had issues with people urinating in garbage cans, drinking beer and partying all day long. She added that it gets noisy, that she has seen people coming out the store walking to the corner and throwing beer cans on the floor. She also said that as a woman, she is not comfortable walking down the street with the people hanging out there and that the neighborhood is saturated with alcohol. Ald. Zamarripa mentioned that the store won’t sell alcoholic beverages of less than 750 ml. Mr. Cooney confirmed that the amendment is on file for no liquor sales of less than 750 ml. Erick Anderson – 2511 N Gordon Ct - said that he agreed with everything what his neighbor said and that he does not want any more alcohol sales nearby in regards the amendment made. Individuals in support: Blue Pelikan – 3425 S Whitnall Av – said that he works in the area as a volunteer organizing the licenses for Ald. Brower’s district and that he supports the application. He added that the applicant is good to the community, that every wekend he is there cooking for and helping the community. Individuals also present: Ald. Brower said that this application came back before committee because the applicant amended the application and that it satisfies his concerns. He added that the outlets that the neighbor mentioned are bars and; that this would be the only liquor store in the area. He also mentioned that the applicant is willing to keep the perimeter clean and that even sweep the alley. Ald. Brower moved approval. (Prevailed 4-1)
