Minutes note: Alderman Robert Donovan, Chair of the Public Safety Committee explained that his purpose for scheduling the Special Public Safety Committee meeting is an effort to bring together representatives of MPS and the Public Safety Committee to explore meaningful ways to address the growing problems that exist in the Milwaukee Public Schools system. According to Alderman Donovan, the problems facing MPS are monumental and will require the full commitment of both the public and private sector to orchestrate a turnaround.

Minutes note: Appearance: Assistant Chief Joseph Whiten, Milwaukee Police Department. Motion by Ald. McGee to adopt substitute 1 of Common Council File #061071 and refer the file to the City Attorney for amendents to the agreements to add language that would include community involvement and oversight, in addition to the continued fostering of community initiatives that were already in process prior to the February 1st meeting.
