Minutes note: Appearances: Steve Mahan, Director, Community Development Grants Administration appeared before the committee to provide the following overview about the Year 2006 - CAPER. Mr. Mahan informed members that this report is required by HUD annually and documents performance in meeting the goals of funded activities. He continued that all of the activity information orginates from the funded agencies involved in the program per HUD instructions. Major accomplishments of funded activities include completion of 1,588 units of housing rehabilitation, the creation of 116 new jobs and the placement and training of 415 individuals in jobs, youth programing, various health care programs, nuisances abatement, homebuyer counseling, various support services to households, ex-offenders and seniors, youth intership programs, , funding to Mainstreet districts, resources to Milwaukee Public Libraries and the resolution of fair housing complaints.
