Minutes note: About 40 people in attendance.
Presentation by Mario Higgins, Director, Community Block Grants Administration
Speakers:
1. Karen Higgins - Milwaukee Christian Center - would appreciate any money for housing, NIP or youth programs.
2. Maria Poradec - has done clean-ups and they get citizens together. She supports Southside Organizing Committee (SOC)
3. Juana Ramos - SOC supporter - likes the clean-ups and they do make a differences.
4. Jared Bell - City Champs - they enlisted over 3,000 kids this year with the help of the city.
5. JoAnna Bautch - Via - NSP funds support their staff, as donors are reluctant to donate for staff salaries.
6. Debbie Otto - read by Marlena Sanchez in support of SOC - she liked dumpster day
7. LizFrandzeyk - MATC Fast Fund - helped 2,300 students last year with an average amount of gifting being $275. She would like more funding for youth services.
8. Victoria Jiminez - likes the clean-ups and her daughter works with SOC.
9. Maria Guzman - supports SOC, helped her get a fallen tree off her property.
10. Isabelle Smith - youth worker at SOC.
11. Alexis Scroggins - youth work at SOC.
12. Richard Balzer - Wisconsin Community Services - need more funding for the driver's license recovery program and for employment opportunities.
13. Brandon Triggs - Village Group and Helping Kids Better Themselves - at Atkinson Park - serve breakfast and lunch and have basketball camp.
