Mr. Pauly said that they have a long time contractor who has done work for PW for many years which had a challenging year in 2023 affecting projects on the north and south sides of the city. He added that they have recognized the concerns from the local aldermen and constituents, that multiple actions have been taken, that meetings were held but that some of the practices continued in the 2024. He also mentioned that the contractor has improved in many ways but still falling short on some of the projects. He also said that they are planning another meeting with the contractor and that the DPW Commissioner will be included and he welcomed anyone interested in sitting at this meeting. Jerrel Kruschke joined the table. Ald. Chambers requested to be added as a co-sponsor. There were no objections.

He added that program has been running for two weeks, that there is nothing to report yet, but that he wants to make sure that there is compliance with the distribution requirements, the sidewalk ridding provisions, the signage and marking on scooters, accessible scooters, etc. Ald. Brostoff said that Lime has not been in compliance. Mike Amden introduced Zachary Roder, the new Senior Transportation Planner.

Minutes note: Kevin Muhs and Jerrel Kruschke - DPW Mr. Muhs gave the following report: -The TID Project for Burnham Park public meeting was held on May 21st. -The Sherman Blvd. project: is moving to the deign phase after the 3rd round of public meetings being held. Ald. Bauman asked if there is any progress on Highland Blvd. with the DOT. Mr. Muhs said that Highland Blvd. between 25th and 20th is one of the projects that is targeted for ARPA funds for Traffic Calming and that it is the last corridor for those funds. He added that they are working with the DOT to follow up the state requirements process to remap where the state highway goes because there is a conflict between the type of traffic calming that they wish to do and the state expectations for traffic flow. He added that they will be reducing to one lane on each direction and that there will be a public meeting for that remapping.
