Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $147,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $727,000.  The City funds remaining for projects canceled by this resolution is estimated to be $321,115.64.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

4th Aldermanic District

 

N. 34th St. - W. Vliet St. to W. Cherry St. (SM495100135) File Number 100013:  Relay combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $142,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

 

7th and 10th Aldermanic Districts

 

N. 50th St. - N. Gengler Cr. to W. Townsend St. (SM495110003) File Number 101172:  Relay sanitary sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $465,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

 

14th Aldermanic District

 

S. Harbor Dr. - E. Bay St. to a point north of E. Jones St. (SM495110546) File Number 110162:  Sewer work prior to paving.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $60,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $60,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

 

15th Aldermanic District

 

N. 26th St. - W. Meinecke Ave. to W. Medford Ave. (including W. Tamarack St.  - W. Fond du Lac Ave. to W. Medford Ave.) (ST211110185) File Number 110833:  Laying a curb and gutter.  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $60,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $60,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011-2012 construction season.

 

now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That installation and construction has been canceled for the following described improvements:

 

7th Aldermanic District

 

W. Auer Ave. - N. 30th St. to N. 31st St. (WT410061089) File Number 070186:  Relay water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund - Remaining balance estimated to be $83,755.04).

 

N. 31st St. - W. Burleigh St. to 500 feet north of W. Auer Ave. (WT410061090) File Number 070186:  Relay water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund - Remaining balance estimated to be $237,360.60).

 

; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works cancel the above described work and that use of funds remaining is rescinded for said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to rescind transfer of remaining funds available for this purpose to the appropriate Capital Project/Grant accounts.
