Resolution directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement titled “State/Municipal Agreement for a Highway Improvement Project”, with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the improvement of South 27th Street (STH 241) from West Howard Avenue to the Union Pacific Railroad, with 95% Federal and/or State aid, under the Connecting Highway Improvement Program; with an estimated total cost of $10,285,000, which is an increase of $4,735,000, and a total estimated increase in preliminary engineering cost of this project is $385,000 of which the City’s share is $96,250 and grantor’s share is $288,750.
Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement for the improvement of South 27th Street (STH 241) from West Howard Avenue to the Union Pacific Railroad. This project is approved and included in the WISDOT’s current Connecting Highway Improvement Program. This revised state/municipal agreement adds the section of South 27th Street (STH 241) from West Oklahoma Avenue to the Union Pacific Railroad. The City of Milwaukee is responsible for 25% of the preliminary engineering costs on this project in accordance with WISDOT policy. City costs for the construction of this project will be dependent upon the amount of parking allowed. The estimated total cost of this project is $10,285,000, of which the City’s share is $578,850 and the grantor’s share is $9,706,150. The total increase in preliminary engineering cost of this project is $385,000 of which the City’s share is $96,250 and grantor’s share is $288,750.
