Title
Resolution directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute documents titled “State/Municipal Agreement for a Connecting Highway Improvement Project” with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming and construction of Fond du Lac Avenue (STH 145) North 60th Street to North 68th Street at an estimated total cost of $6,863,450 at a 92 percent State/Federal share of which the preliminary engineering cost is $674,400, with the city's share being $168,600 and the grantor's share being $505,800 and South Chase Avenue (STH 38) East Oklahoma Avenue to Lincoln Avenue at an estimated total cost of $10,044,760, at a 92.3 percent State/Federal share of which the preliminary cost is $1,035,600 with the city's share being $258,900 and the grantor's share being $776,700.
Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute project agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) for the programming and construction of two (2) connecting highway projects with Federal/State Aid. These projects are included in the WisDOT’s current Connecting Highway program for improvement. The City is responsible for 25 percent of the preliminary engineering costs on these projects in accordance with WisDOT policy. City costs for the construction of these projects is dependent upon parking allowed. The estimated total cost of these projects is $16,908,210, of which the city’s share is $1,155,960. The total estimated preliminary engineering cost of these projects is $1,710,000, of which the City’s share is $596,100. This resolution also directs the City Comptroller to transfer funds for preliminary engineering for these projects.
