Resolution relative to application, acceptance, and funding of a Click It or Ticket Enforcement 2011 grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to apply for, accept, and fund a Click It or Ticket Enforcement grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety in the amount of $30,000. The purpose of this grant is to encourage extraordinary seat-belt enforcement thru the use of unconventional belt enforcement efforts.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for a Click It or Ticket Enforcement grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety, and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/1/11 to 09/30/12 would cost $30,000 of which (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is authorized and the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code Ordnances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2011 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: Click It or Ticket Enforcement 2011 Project Grant:
