Title:          

Resolution amending Resolution File Number 110291 relating to the Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Grant.

Analysis:      

This resolution amends Resolution File Number 110291, adopted on July 26, 2011, which approved a Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Grant project from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) through the Wisconsin Department of Justice- Division of Criminal Investigation, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program, so that the Police Department can accept additional grant funding of $30,000 for a new grant total of $69,567.82. This amendment will also extend the grant from September 30, 2011 to March 31, 2012.  

Body:         

Whereas, The Common Council adopted File Number 110291 on July 26, 2011, approving an Internet Crimes Against Children grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention; and

Whereas, Grant funding for the period of April 22, 2011 to September 30, 2011 was $39,567.82; and

Whereas, Additional funding of $30,000 was provided by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention; and

Whereas, The grant period has been extended to March 31, 2012; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Resolution File Number 110291 adopted on July 26, 2011, is amended by deleting the amount "$39,567.82" in the 1^st "Further Resolved" clause under Item 1, and inserting in lieu thereof the sum "$69,567.82", thereby increasing the grant by $30,000; and be it

Further Resolved, That the grant end date be changed to March 31, 2012.
