Analysis

Currently, if any certified survey map approved during a calendar year has unpaid property taxes as of January 1 of the following calendar year, the commissioner of assessments shall not approve new tax-key numbers for the parcels created by the certified survey map until such time as all outstanding taxes on the original parcel are paid in full.  This ordinance repeals this provision.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1.  Section 119-16-2 of the code is repealed.  (Note:  The provision being repealed reads as follows:

119-16.  Enforcement.

2.  TAX-DELIQUENT CERTIFIED SURVEY MAP PARCELS.  If any certified survey map approved during a calendar year has unpaid property taxes as of January 1 of the following calendar year, the commissioner of assessments shall not approve new tax key numbers for the parcels created by the certified survey map until such time as all outstanding taxes on the original parcel are paid in full.)

Part 2.  Section 119-16-3 is renumbered 119-16-2.
