Title

Analysis
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to Belfor, U.S.A. allowing them to close East Clybourn Street between North Lincoln Memorial Drive and a point 300 feet west, to undertake maintenance work at the Milwaukee County Transit Center.
Body
Whereas, Belfor, U.S.A. has been retained by Milwaukee County to replace panels on the Milwaukee County Transit Center along East Clybourn Street; and

Whereas, Belfor, U.S.A. has requested to occupy the entire roadway of East Clybourn Street between North Lincoln Memorial Drive and a point 300 feet west; and

Whereas, The panels weigh 16 tons each and a crane is needed to replace the panels; and

Whereas, The size of the crane necessitates that the entire roadway be closed; and

Whereas, The roadway closure is expected to take place between October 3, 2011 and October 14, 2011; and

Whereas, Belfor, U.S.A. will be responsible for all required traffic control in accordance with City requirements and permits; and

Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the public right-of-way, while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to issue a permit to Belfor, U.S.A. allowing occupancy of East Clybourn Street between North Lincoln Memorial Drive and a point 300 feet west, for a period between October 3, 2011 and October 14, 2011.
