Title
Resolution approving an extension to the Law Enforcement Special Assignment Grant Agreement with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes an extension to the Law Enforcement Special Assignment Grant Agreement between the City and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  That agreement was originally entered into on April 15, 2003 and further extended in the years 2004 through 2010. Pursuant to the 2003 Amendment to Law Enforcement Special Assignment Grant Agreement between the City and the University, the Common Council agreed that the 2003 agreement could be extended by mutual agreement in writing between UWM and the Chief conditioned upon UWM's agreement to provide additional grant funds to cover the cost of MPD officer services.  The term of the current agreement expired on May 14, 2011.  This extension will extend that agreement for the period September 1, 2011 through October 30, 2011 in the amount of $25,000.
