Analysis

This resolution extends a lease agreement with T-Mobile Central LLC  (T-Mobile) for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the City’s fire station at 5600 W. Oklahoma Ave., which was authorized by Common Council Resolution File Number 001016, adopted on November 28, 2000. T-Mobile succeeded to the interests of Voicestream Wireless following renewal of the lease agreement authorized in Resolution File Number 050050, adopted May 20, 2005. The term of the extended lease will expire on December 19, 2015.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 001016 on November 28, 2000, approving a 5-year lease agreement with Voicestream Wireless for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the City’s fire station at 5600 W. Oklahoma Ave.; and

 

Whereas, The lease agreement with Voicestream Wireless was extended for a 5-year term authorized by resolution  File Number 050050, adopted May 20, 2005; and

 

Whereas, T-Mobile Central LLC (T-Mobile) has succeeded to the interests of Voicestream Wireless as tenant in the lease; and

 

Whereas, The Department of Administration, working with the City Attorney's Office, has negotiated an amendment extending the lease agreement; and

 

Whereas, This agreement provides a 5-year extension of the lease agreement between the City and T-Mobile for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the City’s fire station at 5600 W. Oklahoma Ave., expiring on December 19, 2015; and

 

Whereas, The lease agreement offers a fair market value to the City, protects other City interests, and is acceptable to all City participants; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves and extends the lease agreement, identified as the "Second Amendment to Lease Agreement,"  between the City of Milwaukee and T-Mobile for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the City’s fire station at 5600 W. Oklahoma Ave., a copy of which is attached to this file, to expire December 19, 2015, and authorizes the proper City officials to enter into this lease agreement on behalf of the City of Milwaukee.
