Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $2,878,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $6,383,799.38.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

2nd Aldermanic District

 

W. Fond du Lac Ave. and N. 52nd St. Intersection (ST211110151) File Number 100216:  Intersection modifications.  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $40,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $47,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

Juneau Ave. (SM495110052) File Number 110354:  Relay storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $259,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $260,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
