Title
Resolution authorizing the application, acceptance and funding of the 2011 Port Security Grant from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security through the Community Development Grants Administration on behalf of the Milwaukee Port Security Collaborative.
Analysis
This resolution allows the City of Milwaukee to apply and accept funding from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security - Port Security Grant Program. The Milwaukee Port Security Collaborative (MPSC) consists of the City of Milwaukee Fire and Police Departments, the Port Authority of Milwaukee, the State of Wisconsin-DNR, the City of Port Washington, and Ozaukee County.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security in the amount of $337,344; and

Whereas, The following projects will be covered by this grant: Marine Domain Awareness in the amount of $132,135; and Improvised Explosive Detection in the amount of $140,995; Training and Exercise in the amount of $48,150; and Management and Administration in the amount of $16,064; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/01/2011 through 09/30/2014 would cost $337,344 would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Community Development Grants Administration shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2011 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled: “2011 Port Security Grant Program”:
