Analysis
This ordinance defines a chicken coop as it applies to accessory structure standards. A building permit would not be required if a chicken coop is 50 square feet or less in size and 10 feet or less in height. This ordinance also requires that buildings and structures for fowl meet the requirements of s. 78-6.5, the keeping of chickens in the city.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 239-7-3 of the code is created to read:
239-7. Buildings and Structures for Animals and Fowl.
3. Buildings and structures for fowl shall comply with the regulations of s. 78-6.5, and shall not be subject to any of the regulations of subs. 1 and 2 if the covered portion of the coop is 50 square feet or less in size and 10 feet or less in height.
Part 2. Section 295-505-3-n of the code is renumbered 295-505-3-o.
Part 3. Section 295-505-3-n of the code is created to read:
295-505. Design Standards.
3. ACCESSORY STRUCTURE STANDARDS.
o. Chicken Coops. Chicken coops, under s. 78-6.5, shall not be subject to any of the regulations of this subsection if the covered portion of the coop is 50 square feet or less in size and 10 feet or less in height.
