Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a State/Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the City of Milwaukee’s construction costs associated with the improvement of South Howell Avenue (STH 38) from East Ryan Road to East Grange Avenue with an estimated total cost of the project at approximately $6,808,500 of which the City of Milwaukee’s estimated share of construction costs is $140,000. A request for approval for construction costs will be in a future resolution. This resolution also authorizes costs for plan review of $10,000, which will be funded 100 percent by the City of Milwaukee.

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has scheduled the improvement of South Howell Avenue (STH 38) from East Ryan Road to East Grange Avenue for the summer of 2013; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be undertaking the necessary preliminary engineering and plan preparation for the improvement; and

Whereas, Future resolutions will address the construction funding for this project; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has prepared a State/Municipal Agreement to include those costs that will be the responsibility of the City of Milwaukee as part of the project; now, therefore, be it
