Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Bradley Road and North Granville Road with funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund at an estimated cost of $90,000.
Body
Whereas, The traffic volumes at the intersection of West Bradley Road and North Granville Road exceed federal warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for the installation of a traffic control signal; and
Whereas, The installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of West Bradley Road and North Granville Road will provide for a better exchange of right-of-way over the existing all-way stop control resulting in a reduction in traffic congestion; and
Whereas, The estimated cost of the installation of a traffic control signal is $90,000, and is included in the Department of Public Works traffic signal capital fund approved under Common Council File Number 100966; and
Whereas, The installation of a traffic control signal at West Bradley Road and North Granville Road is scheduled for summer 2011; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Bradley Road and North Granville Road with funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund.
