Title:

Resolution authorizing acceptance of additional funding for an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force grant. 

Analysis:

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept additional grant funds for an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Grant (Investigation #GL-WIE0151) from the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, in the amount of $5,000, for a grant total of $25,000, with a city share of $-0- and a grantor share of $25,000. The purpose of this grant is to fund overtime for assistance in an OCDETF investigation case.

Body:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force grant funds for Investigation #GL-WIE0151 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation; and

 

Whereas, Grant funding for the period of October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011 was $20,000; and

 

Whereas, Additional funding of $5,000 has been provided by the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department is authorized to accept the additional grant funding without further approval unless its terms change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to increase the current grant budget by $5,000 for a grant total of $25,000; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Milwaukee Police Department which is authorized to:

 

1.  Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
