Title
Resolution approving an agreement between the City of Milwaukee Fire Department and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to ensure that emergency response capabilities are not adversely affected by the I-94 E-W Freeway Repaving Project.
Analysis
This resolution approves an agreement between the City of Milwaukee Fire Department and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to provide planning, coordination and staffing services in an effort to mitigate emergency incidents in the project area and to ensure that emergency response capabilities are not adversely affected by the I-94 E-W Freeway Repaving Project.
Body
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be conducting an I-94 E-W Freeway Repaving project; and

Whereas, The project area is defined as interstates I-94, from STH 16 to the Waukesha/Milwaukee County Line and 70th Street to 32nd Street; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will provide $10,000 to the Fire Department to provide, planning, coordination and staffing services in an effort to mitigate emergency incidents in the project area; and

Whereas, The Fire Department will stay informed of project roadway closures and construction progress for a 2-year period commencing on December 1, 2010 and ending on December 1, 2012 under State Project ID 1060-34-90; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the agreement between the City of Milwaukee Fire Department and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to ensure that emergency response capabilities are not adversely affected by the I-94 E-W Freeway Repaving Project, a copy of which is attached, is approved; and, be it

Further resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Grant Parent Account of the 2010 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects fund the following amounts for the project/program e...
