Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Bolivar Avenue and South 20^th Street with funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund.

Body

Whereas, The traffic volumes at the intersection of West Bolivar Avenue and South 20^th Street exceed federal warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for the installation of a traffic control signal; and

Whereas, The installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of West Bolivar Avenue and South 20^th Street will provide for a better exchange of right-of-way over the existing all-way stop control resulting in a reduction in traffic congestion; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Bolivar Avenue and South 20^th Street using funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund.
