Analysis
This resolution authorizes a lease for a Redevelopment Authority property according to the conditions outlined in the lease.
Body
Whereas, The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“Authority”) owns property at 1255 North 22nd Street, commonly referred to as Lynden Hill; and

Whereas, The Authority does not have the resources to maintain Lynden Hill to the level desired by neighborhood residents, organizations and other stakeholders; and

Whereas, The Authority, with input from neighborhood stakeholders, sought to enter into a lease with an organization that is capable of maintaining Lynden Hill; and

Whereas, The Authority met with representatives of Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, Inc., presented its interest in maintaining Lynden Hill to neighborhood stakeholders and negotiated the terms of a lease for Lynden Hill with Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, Inc.; and

Whereas, The proposed lease with Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, Inc. permits it to program activities in Lynden Hill in consideration of its assuming maintenance responsibilities for Lynden Hill as summarized in the lease, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and

Whereas, The Authority conducted a public hearing on the proposed lease on November 18, 2010, as required by Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The proposed lease will facilitate use of and activities on the property, ensure public access and establish maintenance requirements, all while helping to reduce municipal expenditures; now, therefore, be it
