Title

Substitute resolution relating to the suspension of expenditure authority in the Unified CAD System capital account.

 

Analysis

This resolution will suspend the authority to expend $1,399,883.98 from the Unified CAD System capital account.

 

Body

Whereas, It was determined that the City’s existing dispatch systems for the Police and Fire Departments were in need of replacement; and

 

Whereas, The Fire and Police Commission received funding in 2019, 2020 and 2022 to implement a CAD System that would meet the dispatch needs of both departments; and

 

Whereas, The Department of Emergency Communications was established in 2021; and

 

Whereas, Responsibility for the continuation and completion of the CAD System project was transferred to the Department of Emergency Communications; and

 

Whereas, Wisconsin Statutes prohibit the transfer of budgeted funds between departments; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that $1,399,883.98 of spending authority, designated for the Unified CAD System project, is suspended from the Unified CAD System capital account number 0321 R999 0001 BU110190800; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller and other appropriate City officials are directed to take all actions necessary to fulfill the intent of this resolution.
