This resolution appropriates up to $10,000 from the Community and Economic Development Committee Fund for CAGE MKE’s Healing House initiative.

 

Body

Whereas, CAGE MKE is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting urban gardening, community wellness and sustainable living in inner-city Milwaukee; and

 

Whereas, The Healing House will serve as a multipurpose space for community members to engage in mental wellness activities, receive counseling services, and participate in educational workshops; and

 

Whereas, Funds for the project are to be used for constructing the Healing House, employing a team of young people to maintain and enhance the green spaces at the CAGE Campus, and marketing materials and outreach efforts to boost community engagement and awareness; and

 

Whereas, Construction of the Healing House is expected to take 2 to 3 months, with gardening activities expected to begin approximately 2 to 3 months following the completion of construction; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Clerk is authorized to expend up to $10,000 from the Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account No. 0001-1310-S123-006300 to support CAGE MKE’s Healing House initiative.
