Title
Substitute resolution establishing a work group to investigate and plan a Milwaukee City Hall Historical Exhibit.
Analysis
This resolution establishes a work group consisting of representatives of the Department of Public Works, the Historic Preservation Section of the Office of the City Clerk, and Department of City Development to investigate and plan a Milwaukee City Hall Historical Exhibit. The work group will report its findings within four months of the adoption of this resolution.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee City Hall was dedicated on December 23, 1895; and
Whereas, The Milwaukee City Hall is a City landmark with substantial history that has recently undergone extensive restoration; and
Whereas, A Milwaukee City Hall Historical Exhibit could showcase this newly restored landmark and enhance tours of City Hall; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that a work group be established to investigate and plan a Milwaukee City Hall Historical Exhibit; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the work group shall consist of the following members:
1. A representative of the Department of Public works appointed by the Commissioner of Public Works
2. A representative from the Department of City Development appointed by the Commissioner of City Development
3. A representative from the Historic Preservation Section of the Office of the City Clerk appointed by the City Clerk, who shall serve as chair

Further Resolved, That staffing for this work group shall be provided by the office of the City Clerk; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the work group shall investigate potential grants and other sources of funding for the exhibit; and, be it
Further Resolved, That, as part of the work of this work group, the Department of Public Works shall catalog all existing artifacts from Milwaukee City Hall; and, be it
