Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $202,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $2,316,000.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $202,000 with the total cost estimated to be $2,316,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

1st Aldermanic District

 

N. 33rd St. - 205 feet south of W. Lancaster Ave. to W. Lancaster Ave. (SM495100142):  Sanitary sewer repair.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $1,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $200,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.

 

2nd Aldermanic District

 

N. 67th St. - W. Marion St. to W. Congress St. (WT410110009):  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $10,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $10,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $165,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

 

4th Aldermanic District

 

N. 27th St. - W. St. Paul Ave. to W. Highland Ave. (ST211100155):  Consultant fees to prepare documents for a “TIGER” Grant application.  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $25,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $25,000.  This grant application will be completed in 2010.

 

 

5th Aldermanic District

 

W. Townsend St. - N. 95th St. to N. 99th St. (WT410110014):  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $17,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $18,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $355,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

 

7th Aldermanic District

 

N. 41st St. - W. Ruby Ave. to W. Glendale Ave. (SM495100139):  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $134,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.

 

11th Aldermanic District

 

W. River Bend Dr./S. 75th St. - W. Ohio Ave. to W. Morgan Ave. (WT410110023):  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $10,000;  Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $10,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $225,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

 

S. 63rd St. - W. Cleveland Ave. to W. Stack Dr. (WT410110012):  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $12,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $13,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $280,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

 

S. 73rd St. - W. Holt Ct. to W. Morgan Ave. (WT410110022):  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $7,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $8,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $125,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

 

13th Aldermanic District

 

S. 18th St. - 350 feet m/l south of W. Wilbur Ave. to W. Ohio Ave. (SM495100138):  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $664,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.

 

15th Aldermanic District

 

N. 10th St. - W. North Ave. to W. Meinecke Ave. (SM495100137):  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $118,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2010 construction season.

 

Various Aldermanic Districts

 

Local streets and alleys (ST211100156):  Consultant fees to prepare documents for a “TIGER II” Grant application.  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $25,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $25,000.  This grant application will be completed in 2010.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
