Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to execute two State/Municipal Agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming and construction of traffic signal improvements using Highway Safety Improvement Program funds for projects in the 4th, 10th, and 15th Aldermanic Districts. The total estimated cost of both projects is $85,000 with a grantor share of $76,500, and a City share of $8,500. The total estimated preliminary engineering cost for these six projects is $8,000, with a grantor share of $7,200 and a City share of $800, approval of construction costs will be in a future resolution.

Whereas, The submittal of a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant application for North 35th Street (3 Intersections) to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) was approved by the Common Council under File Number 080404; and

Whereas, The original HSIP grant application was split into two projects because the intersection of West Wisconsin Avenue and North 35th Street is on the Connecting Highway System; and

Whereas, Preliminary approval has been requested and received from WISDOT, along with two State/Municipal Agreements to be executed by the City of Milwaukee, for the programming and construction of two projects under the 2011 HSIP; and

Whereas, WISDOT has submitted two State/Municipal Agreements for execution by the City of Milwaukee for the design and construction of:
