Title

Resolution authorizing the conveyance of the vacant parcel at 108 West Cherry Street to the City of Milwaukee for dedication as public right of way.

 

Analysis

 

Body

Whereas, In 1987, the City of Milwaukee conveyed 1500-ADJ North Cape Street to the Redevelopment Authority for redevelopment purposes; and

 

Whereas, Schlitz Park, the adjacent Riverwalk, and the Cherry Street Bridge used portions of 1500-ADJ North Cape Street whereas the Redevelopment Authority retained the remaining parcel now known as 108 West Cherry Street; and

 

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works now desires to utilize the parcel at 108 West Cherry Street for installation of an electric service meter for the Cherry Street Bridge and has requested that the Redevelopment Authority dedicate this remnant parcel as public right of way, and

 

Whereas, The Authority conducted a public hearing on the proposed disposition on March 21, 2024, as required by Wisconsin Statute; now therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, that the conveyance of 108 West Cherry Street to the City of Milwaukee is authorized conditioned upon approval of the Land Disposition Report by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee; and be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Executive Director shall submit a Land Disposition Report to the Common Council and secure approval of any other regulatory bodies or agencies having jurisdiction in the matter; and be it

 

Further Resolved, Upon approval by the Common Council, the property at 108 West Cherry Street shall be conveyed to the City for dedication as a public right of way and for no monetary consideration.
