Analysis

This resolution authorizes a 5-year extension of the lease agreement with Voicestream Wireless for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the Zeidler Municipal Building, which was approved by Common Council Resolution File Number 991882, adopted on April 11, 2000, and extended for an additional 5 years by Council File 050053.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 991882 on April 11, 2000, approving a 5-year lease agreement with Voicestream Wireless for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the Zeidler Municipal Building; and

Whereas, The Department of Administration has been working with the Department of Public Works and the City Attorney's Office to negotiate an amendment extending the lease agreement after 2 successful terms; and

Whereas, This agreement provides a 5-year extension of the lease agreement between the City and Voicestream Wireless for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the Zeidler Municipal Building; and

Whereas, The lease agreement offers a fair market value to the City, protects other City interests, and is acceptable to all City participants; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves the lease agreement between the City of Milwaukee and Voicestream Wireless for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the Zeidler Municipal Building, a copy of which is attached to this file, and authorizes the proper City officials to enter into said lease agreement on behalf of the City of Milwaukee.
